10 Downing

Category: Dining

There is a new addition to West Village dinning experience...the old STA Travel space went through metamorphosis to serve as a new restaurant space for 10 Downing. In London, it is the residential address of UK Prime Minister, and in Manhattan it is the real steet name in which 10 Downing opened its kitchen door just two weeks ago. The space has a very inviting feel, with large windows, high ceiling and its walls are the showcase of some of the most up and coming modern artists. Its has a great vibe and it is packed - there were no empty tables throughout the night. The bar area was crowded with people sipping their pre-dinner drinks. The restaurant is new but everything was working smooth on the night of my visit and the service is pleasant and knowledgeable. The food was very good. Often going to the newly established restaurant, there are always few disappointments. It takes time and the right team for restaurant to work in well harmonized flow, and deliver always the best to each table, each time, but 10 Downing seems to have everything button up. There were so many delicious choices on the menu...it was a hard choice for us to decide on the standard three course dinner. We decided to experience beyond the standard choosing many different appetizers to share. Among theme were Squid Ink Agnalotti with crab meat, Duck Meatballs, 10 Downing Salad, Special of the evening - shaved lamb shank with gnudi. For main I recommend Wood Hen Mushroom with gnocchi...light, full of flavour and veryseasonal. 10 Downing is the new IT spot in West Village - relaxed, casual and delicious dinning.
