Fruit I cannot live without
Banana - it is my morning power shot. I don't drink coffee, instead I begin each morning with a glass of water with freshly squeezed lemon and one large banana. Bananas are excellent source of energy...and bananas contain serotonin which is a chemical that acts as a mood enhancer and sends "happy signals" to our brain...perhaps bananas are my secret ingredient for a happy beginning of the day.
Rich in potassium, magnesium and selenium, bananas also help protect our hearts from diseases.
Watermelon- a fresh, juicy, sweet and yummy snack that has only 33 calories per 100 grams. You cannot beat this high detoxifier, flushing away toxins and making our immune system stronger. We take watermelon for granted but it is a very healthy snack and wonderful addition to our diets.
Bluberries/Berries - in any form blueberries, strawberries, blackberries, raspberries etc...this is the must mix in my fruit rainbow...plenty of vitamins, antioxidants and detoxifiers.
Apple - young juicy apples that I find on the market each fall are a must! Apples are loaded with minerals and vitamins that help our digestive system, and make our skin glow. Excellent for detox.
Pineapple - super sweet and juicy addition to a weight loss diet. It is an excellent source of vitamins - especially C and has a plenty of fibre that helps us to digest food faster.
Plums- delicious in any form and variety, fresh, baked, stewed...plums have a plenty of fibre and vitamins..
