Holiday Love
New York City is one of the most vibrant, most colorful and most exciting cities in the World and becomes even more so with holidays. The joy, the shine of lights, the merry music and the crowds in the streets, stores and museums make the city that never sleeps feel like it is on speed. It had such a feeling last year, and the years before, but this year it feels different...
We have the lights, decorations, music, and crowds on the streets and in stores, and we have very early SALES. I went to Bergdorf Goodman after Thanksgiving and the sales were 40 -50% off, and one week later the reductions reached an incredible 75% off original prices. New York is known for its amazing sales, but never that early and not that great a discount on such a selection of merchandise. Other stores have amazing sales, and are fighting for the careful holiday spenders.
This holiday season instead of feeling the joy of giving, many of us decided to share love and joy with friends and family minus the gifts. WIth the weakening economy and less money being spent on "the special gifts", there are only a few cheerful spirits out there, and even they have started to worry about the upcoming years of economic crisis. But we must stay positive, and still feel the importance of joy in holiday season. We have to remember that holidays like Christmas or Hanukkah are not about gifts, and getting caught up in the marketing craze. It is not about gift pressure of who gets the next luxurious watch or ostrich bag, or the trendy Louboutin. This year we should reflect on what is important to us, to our lives, and relationships...love, happiness, sex, and healthy living. Project your energy in a positive direction...spend time with your family, children, with your love, reading books and exercising...have your new year's resolution start earlier just like the sales started.
Please don't get depressed if your gift doesn't come in an orange or red box. Instead feel the real joy of being with people who care about you because they love you, and not your gifts.
Happy Holidays
and plenty of Love...
