Living Smart
This week I met a very interesting woman – she is beautiful, she is fun and she is smart – she is also a strong believer in living life without depriving yourself.
During our conversation, she raised an issue that probably matters the most in shaping who you are, and how you look and feel about yourself; developing a lifestyle that provides a healthy state of mind and body. This led us to a discussion about fad diets and workouts, and brought us to the most important issue of all…
We agreed that depriving our bodies of food is the ultimate punishment, that only pays off for a short time. It is impossible to enjoy life and be healthy by saying “no” to food every time you sit down for a meal or look at a menu. Food should not be your enemy. Giving up one's social life and self enjoyment to avoid food in order to be slim is not going to last forever. Enjoying healthy food on the other hand is a key to successfully living a quality lifestyle.
Many people fall into the trap of fad diets and fad exercise routines, that work only for certain amount of time, not forever. It is not natural for anybody to be controlled by food. We should be in control of what we eat and how much we eat. Moderation is the solution to enjoy every bite of every delicacy that life offers.
Exercising is the key element to staying healthy. Diet, meaning our lifestyle – what we eat - is important, but movement is as essential as the eight glasses of water required for daily hydration. Exercising is the most important factor for a healthy lifestyle, it allows us to stay fit, strong and firm for life…it invigorates body and mind and makes us relaxed. Movement is a primary factor for weight loss, and diet is secondary…it is because once we start any form of exercise, we soon experience a change in our eating behaviour; naturally the body will stop craving empty calories and bad foods as it realizes that the energy for a complete workout to build muscle, strength and flexibility comes from what we eat.
We must start today with exercising and healthy eating... We are what we eat and if we don't eat well or deprive ourselves, our lives re empty...deprived from pleasure.
Every bite of wonder foods helps us to feel better, helps our skin to glow and eyes to sparkle…and every time we move we help the body to get rid of the bad radicals and stay fit and looking fabulous.
Start moving, start eating healthy! The results last for life!
