Thanksgiving dessert - Pumpkin Pie
This year, I am in charge of desserts for Thanksgiving. I love to cook, but when it comes to baking, I fail at each attempt. I went around the city to taste several traditional Thanksgiving cakes and pies. It was a delicious experience, and in the end I found the most delicious pumpkin pies.
Grandaisy Bakery on Sullivan Street. The pumpkin pie resembles more of a lightweight pumpkin cheesecake. It is extremely light and fluffy, and has a smooth texture. It is a combination of a thin brioche crust filled with creamy pumpkin puree. It has a mild touch of spices to add extra flavour.
I love Birdbath Bakery. It is all organic, and environmentally friendly. The bakery offers a delicious selection of muffins, cakes and cookies, and refreshing creamy lemonade. Last two seasons Birdbath bakery offers fabulous pumpkin pie baked on graham crackers. This pumpkin pie has a pronounced flavour of pumpkin infused with ginger and seasonal spices. Its texture is a mix of crunchy graham crackers with a smooth pumpkin topping. Fresh and organic ingredients are brought to your house to celebrate a "green" Thanksgiving and to share joy with people who care about the planet!
